Together in Lisbon

Subud Portugal invited the International Helpers of Area 2 to participate in a Kejiwaan event with the Lisbon group. Portugal is hosting the next World Congress in 2028 and is currently supporting the WSC meeting in Fatima, so developing a feeling of harmony was particularly important.

Our meeting started with all the helpers coming together. After Latihan, we continued discussing all kinds of topics and sharing our experiences. The following day, we met with around twenty members and did some wonderful testing that brought us all closer together. Sharing was an important part of our meeting and very touching.

Sunday, June 22nd, was Bapak’s birthday. We began our celebration with Latihan and testing, and enjoyed a traditional Indonesian yellow “Rice Mountain” (Nasi Tumpeng) to honour Yang Mulia Bapak. We sang a birthday song in Indonesian and feasted on the various foods provided lovingly by all members of the group. Our meeting concluded with a talk given by Bapak in 1977 in Lisbon.

‘It was a very special time for us to be in Lisbon for Bapak’s Birthday and to share together our feeling of gratefulness to the founder of Subud for bringing the Latihan kejiwaan to us all,’ said Anwar.

Our meeting ended with good wishes from our side and encouragement to continue looking forward to working together and strengthening our connections, both inwardly and outwardly. as we prepare for the World Congress and WSC meeting. The group said that they all felt closer and more harmonious.
