WSA Board Meeting – 23 September

First on the agenda was the World Congress venues.

After the last Council Meeting and the August Board Meeting, the WCOT prepared a Discussion Paper  on the venue options and cost involved of the World Congress. The paper was briefly introduced at the  meeting and will be distributed by email to the Council members for feedback. Council members are invited to comment and pose questions to the WCOT by email to be responded by WCOT. The meeting decided to call for a Council meeting on the 14th of October (right after the International Helpers Dewan meeting in Porto)  to discuss the venue of the congress in July 2024. 

Second on the agenda item was the update on the WSA Archive Facility project in Canberra. Suyono first updated the meeting on the fundraising campaign for the archives facility project. Construction may be able to start in October, with the development approval already in the pipeline, which require fulfilling minor condition. Further updates were made on the planned sale of the Ex- BSB land in Wisma Subud Cilandak. The meeting requested that further marketing plan be made for the sale of the property. The International Helpers Area 2 shared their experience from the visit to Zone 6 countries  and the Zone 6 Meeting early September 2023

WSA BOD Meeting – 12 August

WSA invited the SDIA board at the WSA board meeting.

Vincent Mount informed the WSA board on the activities of SDIA members projects. Both board discussed the relationship between WSA and SDIA, and the process of drafting the MOU between the two organizations. They also discussed  the perspectives from each organization on what the role of the other should be and how to work together.

The WSA discussed the budget for the reunion of Zone 6 members in September in DRC. Suyono announced the resignation of Amanecer Urrutia as Care Support Coordinator. The meeting was followed by the WCOT report on the preparation of the World Congress, specifically on the venues scenarios proposed by the WCOT. 

WSA Zoom with Subud DRC – 8 August

International Helper, Area 2 , organized a meeting for the WSA Executive Chair, Suyono to meet with Subud DRC.

The meeting discussed the plan of  the Zone 6 meeting in September 2023 and the support of WSA for DRC to organize it.

 

WSA Board Meeting – 15 July

The agenda of the meeting was (1) To finalize the 2023 provisional budget, and (2) the World Congress.

Budget for the WSA Archives Facility project in Canberra was discussed, and would likely be a multi- year project, whether as an asset or not. 

Date of World Congress to be on 18 – 28 July 2024.

WCOT Meeting – 9 July

A full WCOT meeting was called after the Council Meeting decided to delay the planned January 2024 Congress date.

Discussed was mainly on option of dates, in July 2024 or January 2025, and the balance between two venues combination ( Palangka Raya and Rungan Sari). 

In the meeting representatives from SDIA, Youth, SESI, were present and comments heard. 

 

WSC Periodical Zoom Meeting – 1 & 2 July

The two day meeting was attended by over 30 participants, and broadcasted live on YouTube

Day 1 and Day 2 

On day 1, the council members reported highlights from their updates, which were already shared on google drive 

Day 2 was dedicated to World Congress matters 1. Update on World Congress  proposals and applications received by WSA; 2. Update on World Congress facilities and logistics preparation; and 3. Update on the process for obtaining permit from the government.

The council discussed the government permit for the World Congress which has not been obtained. Being almost 6 months away from the planned date of the World Congress, after discussion and assessment of the conditions and options the meeting decided that the World Congress will NOT take place in January 2024. Following the recommendation of the WCOT,  the Zone Representatives instructed Suyono to advise them by the end of October 2023, at the latest, whether a permit for mid -July 2024 has been received.

WSA BOD Meeting – 24 June

The meeting discussed 2023 budget :

On grants to Zone 6 for the Zone Representative to travel to Zone 6 meeting in September,  and the 1st Quarter budget versus actual expenditure. A revised 2023 budget will be circulated to the board. Update on WSA request for a loan from MSF  for the Canberra Archives Facility project and fundraising for the project  Also raised was the fundraising for Care Support in collaboration with SDIA. On World Congress matters the following topics were discussed pre- congress meetings, proposals affecting the WSA Bylaws, and the permit from the Government to hold the World Congress.

MSF BOT Meeting – 10 June

The WSA board of Directors was invited to the MSF Trustees meeting to discuss matters involving WSA:

The amendment to the MSF Bylaws, the ad-hoc committee for the MOU between WSA and MSF, the MSF Trustee candidate selection procedure, and the WSA request for loan from MSF in relation to the Canberra Archives Facility project.

 

WSA & MSF Joint Meetings 13/14 May & 27 May 2023

In preparation for the recruitment of new MSF Trustees before the World Congress in 2024

The two boards have been in discussion on the process of MSF trustees call for application and the evaluation by both boards. The boards have agreed to a Joint Evaluation team, representing both board. Further discussion and agreement was concluded on the process of evaluation for the 2024 candidacy

WSA Monthly BOD Meeting – 15 April 2023

The WSA Executive invited the MSF trustees to observe the meeting.

The main agenda of the meeting was the MSF Trustees Selection and the proposed amendment to MSF Bylaws. Before those two items were discussed the meeting approved last month’s BOD Minutes of Meeting and the meeting’s agenda. The WSA board, after discussion and listening to explanation from MSF’s trustees, had no more comments and in general have no outstanding issue and agree to the changes proposed by MSF to MSF’s Bylaws. A board resolution will be proposed and approved. On the matter of MSF Trustee Selection, the joint WSA and MSF team with the support the International Helpers will work on the selection process. Discussed with MSF was also the plan for funding the WSA Archives Facility in Canberra.
