On September 20 and 21, the first National Wings Representatives gathering in Colombia was held in Popayán Subud house. The national helpers were present and the national and local committees supported the gathering. David Quesada and Emilia Blanco from SICA, Manuel Vásquez from Youth, Daniel Jiménez from SES, and Dr. Rodrigo Losada from SIHA. The kejiwaan work focused on strengthening each person’s latihan and then on feeling the meaning and content of the work of the wings and the qualities that each of the representatives has to offer, according to God’s will.
The national wings drew up a joint work plan with the aim of contributing to the growth of the Subud brotherhood. They presented a short-, medium- and long-term proposal. They emphasized the importance of finding an SDIA representative, as well as having a contact person in each of the groups.
Some wings, such as SICA and SIHA, have carried out specific activities in their groups, such as forming a choir in the city of Bogotá, and SIHA held two talks about health in the Popayán and Bogotá groups.
They proposed the design of virtual or face-to-face talks and workshops with specific themes for each wing and beginning to obtain financial resources. They committed to holding a meeting every 15 days on Tuesdays at 8 a.m. to evaluate tasks and commitments.
They have proposed contacting and forming a group of experts to support them in their various tasks. They also propose holding a national meeting in which all wing representatives participate. It was proposed that this take place during the national congress in March 2026. It was also suggested to have a helper to accompany them from the kejiwaan side.
The meeting was wonderful, a feeling of brotherhood was felt, and the representatives stated that everything that is done must have the content of the latihan. They discussed not to think of themselves as individual wings but as a collaborative working group within the Subud brotherhood. They felt the importance of diligent latihan and understood what it means to be diligent and that it requires an effort that they are willing to make, not only the wing representatives but also the helpers and the committee.
Long-term goals: for young people to participate in the Americas gathering, to hold a national poetry contest, and to participate in the World Congress in Fatima in 2028.The general latihan was shared on Saturday and Sunday with the Popayán group, and a heartfelt Selamathan was held, accompanied by beautiful guitar music played by our brother and representative of SICA, David Quesada, and our sister Paloma Muñoz.
