Enterprise Services (SESI)

The World Subud Association has an important aim to promote and encourage the bringing together of the talents and skills available within our Association– whether within for-profit or non-profit activities; for social and charitable work; for schools and youth services, or within the cultural and arts fields, as well as the development of business ventures. It is in this way that the Subud membership will be able to better experience and demonstrate the result of the latihan as practiced in this world; and to better understand and discover the meaning of harmony in human endeavour.

As a registered non-profit tax-exempt organization, the WSA cannot provide significant financing to for-profit businesses. However, the WSA can provide access to a network of business experts, and to motivate and encourage those experts in Subud to get together and develop significantly large enterprises. The aim would be to earn reasonable profits from these businesses for their investors while committing to share those profits (usually 25% of dividend payments) to help the Subud Association meet its obligations to its membership and to support the development of projects that significant numbers of Subud members can collaborate together to undertake — projects such as schools, hospitals and homes for the aged. At the same time the Subud Association would also be able to adequately fund the need for Subud premises and to support the work of the helpers on all levels.

Support for humanitarian projects is provided by Susila Dharma International Association: www.susiladharma.org.

The Muhammad Subuh Foundation also provides financial support to the development of Subud premises and to other projects, and the management of WSA’s assets: www.msubuhfoundation.org.

SUBUD ENTERPRISE SERVICES INTERNATIONAL (SESI)

Subud Enterprise Services International [SESI] exists as a network within the WSA to provide support to Subud business experts and to motivate and encourage them to come together to establish significant enterprises in support of the financial needs of the Subud Association and its membership.
In this way the Association will not need to rely exclusively on donations from the membership to fund its needs but may develop a sustainable flow of funding from an agreed share of enterprise profits.

How to start an enterprise for Subud:

The enterprises Bapak means are joint enterprises, undertaken jointly between you, not by just one or two people  only but  by a lot of people forming a company, an NV (Naamlooze Ve- noot-schap) or PT  (Perseroan Terbatas), a Limited Company, which can really be seen to have adequate capital. That means establishing an enterprise with a lot of members working together, collecting a large amount of capital. In this way the enterprises you carry on will really be able to strengthen Subud.

SESI MEMORANDUM:  ENGLISH, SPANISH, INDONESIAN

This memorandum includes an update on current activities at SESI and a summary of what’s happened at SESI since the 2010 World Congress and the June/July 2011 WSC meeting in Rungan Sari. Since the new SESI was appointed at the World Congress we spent a significant amount of time producing the summary of Bapak’s advice and guidance concerning enterprise that was requested by Congress.
We are very much open to suggestions and proposals as regards how we can better support SES national bodies’ needs and how we can better function as SES International. We intend to expand the SESI Board and are particularly interested in any members with financing/ banking expertise and someone to help us manage and develop our web site.
